Our first family Vacation

Our first little family weekend vacation to Knoxville, Asheville and Gatlinburg.
It was such a beautiful fall day here on Friday, October 14, that Jay and I decided that we wanted to pack up and go to East TN for the weekend. Before having babies, we would decide at the last minute to take a weekend trip, pack up and be on the road within the hour so we were optimistic that we could do close to the same with the babies. After all, they are little, will sleep most the way and can't take up too much room in the car, right?? Rrrrrright... We decided at 12:30 that we were gonna go and that we wanted to be on the road by 1:30, 2 at the latest. As Jay booked the hotel for that night in Knoxville, I thought I would "throw a few things together" and we would be on our way.  Well,  if you have never packed for 3 month old twins, it goes something like this... 5 outfits per baby per day,  pajamas, sleep sacks, socks, bibs, burp cloths, swaddling blankets, 2 packs of diapers, homemade baby wipes, 8 bottles per day per baby-that's 16 bottles a day, 2 cans of formula, cereal for night time bottles, a pack-n-play, double stroller, 2 car seats, 2 wubbanubs.. and that is just BABY STUFF.. that does not include mine and Jay's stuff!! For us, there were 3 outfits per day (this is a new standard based on the amount of times we are spit-up on a day), hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shoes, socks..oh wait, I forgot socks, Sorry Jay!....camera, laptop, snacks...  I'm worn out just remembering all we took!! So... 3 suitcases and 3 hours later, we were on the road!
Since, Aunt Allison lives in Knoxville, we decided to surprise her! Surprising Allison is very hard.. she finds out everything... So with a little help from her friends (Thanks Mason) and it being a last minute trip, we were able to pull it off! We when we got there, we set the boys outside her door in their carseats and when she opened it, there were her favorite little nephews!! She was completely shocked!! I regret not taking a picture of her face when she saw them, she was almost in tears... after the afternoon we'd had, I'm sure you will understand why a picture was not at the forefront of my thoughts! :) Next time..
Here are a few pictures that we did get...
